The only other Ella is this little girl in ballet who looks up to me I’m class cause I’m the “ballerina” and the example for the little ones for what they want to look like as a dancer yada yada yada. She was kinda annoying at first but now I talk to her a lot to keep her motivated in dance and inspire her I guess

If so, you can dance till you die, I believe it’s Baryshnikov whose like 50 or 60 still takes a ballet class every day, he has to or else his body hurts and tightens up

Well I’ve been dancing since I was 3 years old doing jazz, tap, lyrical and ballet. I stopped tapping around 10 cause I just didn’t really like it that much anymore. I’m now 16 and I do ballet, jazz, lyrical and modern, ballet being my favorite style. I compete with my studio in all those styles but ballet :)

I'd just like to say your totally right, I was a break/street dancer professionally for like 10 years, our class had to do ballet to improve on our techniques and it was ridiculous. A load of people who could backflip and all sorts and ballet nearly killed us. It takes so much strength, but also extreme discipline and focus. I have the utmost respect for you. xx

I mean technically its our job to make it look completely effortless, but that just adds to the difficulty of ballet
When I was in middle school people would always tell me dance wasn’t a sport and that it wasn’t hard. All I want is to take them to my Jazz 5 class
It’s the highest level jazz at my studio and my studio is #1 on America
The cardio and workouts we do are RIDICULOUSLY HARD but you know what, that’s why most of us have six packs
I’m really glad that post went around because it opened people’s eyes on how difficult dancing is :)

As a dancer myself, ballet is in some ways harder than a lot of other sports. My teacher made the point clear this morning in class- in a sport they expect you to jump higher, run faster, lift more, have more endurance- all of those wonderful things. But in dance we have to do all of that AND look good doing it.
